Hopefully this could help us all in seeing Islam and muslims in a different light. It is about time we forget stereotypes.

about the new logo.
hi everyone. i'm pretty much nonexistent here these couple days (weeks? months? years??) but upon seeing the new logo i feel compelled to write something about it. :P
since i hardly visit this site again, i discovered the new logo through a post on my facebook newsfeed with spyed (https://www.deviantart.com/spyed)'s journal linked there (i forgot who posted though, sorry). my first thought when i saw the new logo was i had a hard time associating it with deviantart because to me it lacks the visual cue to form the letter 'd' and 'A'. honestly it looks like a 'z' to me and i don't get why dA chose a 'z' to represent 'dA'.
upon further reading of the journal i then discovered
japan is beautiful!
i finally had the opportunity to travel again after last year's euro trip. this time i'm going to japan for a week with my family. i have always been fascinated with japan and its culture and going there really reaffirmed my fascination. i only went to osaka, nara, kobe, and kyoto, no tokyo sadly because there's just not enough time. that would reason enough to come back to japan i guess.
anyway, i took lots of photos during my trip so expect some new uploads on my gallery! (finally!!) :D
eid mubarak!
hey everyone, how are you? hope you're doing great. :)
it's eid here in indonesia so eid mubarak to all of you who celebrates! may this joyful festivity be the reminder for us to keep advocating peace, compassion, and tolerance through our actions. taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum. :)
anyway, sorry for still not being able to keep my promise of updating this gallery of mine. work has been really busy and i barely have time to pursue personal projects. i also no longer work as web designer so there's really not much that i can show work-wise. i decided to move from design department to project management at work because i feel like the latter
remember me?
i'm really thankful if you still do. haha. can't believe my last activity here was about five months ago. and not a gallery update like i promised in my previous journal post. i'm so bad at keeping promises. -_-
anyway, happy new year everyone, wish you all 365 days of greatness ahead! looking back, last year has got to be the best year of my life so far. the highlight is definitely may-june where i had my euro trip. i broke so many self-boundaries and ventured so far out of my comfort zone it's almost unbelievable. if someone told me i would do what i did i probably would laugh at them. but i did. it happened. i experienced a lot of things

Good you're sharing this! I'm not a muslim, but really got involved in the Ramadan this year. I've a mosque next to my house with a very friendly, awesome community. They're so great, bringing us delicious, homemade cookies and food leftovers after their dinners during the Ramadan. It reminds me that we need to do something for the world too. Maybe in another way, but I like the homage muslims pay to, for example, poor people who do not have a lot of food.
In the summer too, I sometimes hear them sing when the sun goes down. A beautiful, foreign sound I easily fall asleep to, listening.
Totally forget about those stupid stereotypes, love having you guys here, to balance out all the other opinions. And remember you're not always the black sheep, lots of people don't believe the stereotypes anyway.
