I like this a lot. It's as if he is closing up and leaving and this is a final good bye. I don't think you need to change the pose at all. I think it's perfect. He seems reflective, not hopeless. As if he's taking a final look around from his perch. I love the perspective. Excellent!
Hm . . . the person seems too reserved for the idea to fully work. It works as it is now, but . . . it seems like there is something in the guy . . . whereas if he had his feet and hands dangling, it'd seem more like there was not anything, any hope, left in him . . . . but that's just me. Nice picture, though. Love the cloths.
I love the natural lighting and how it casts the perfect shadings on all the cloth areas. It could be a very cold photo with all that white, but here there's just enough warmth, to fall comfortable on the eyes
